Marion, Around 10am on Wednesday
SOLD
Stacey Walyuchow
16”H x 12”W
Handpainted collage on wood panel
A new series of work called ‘7 Days’, depicting the days of the week, the struggles they bring and the strength that comes along to help us through.
Marion entered this world on a Wednesday, the day that many people perceive as the midpoint of the week, a mere stepping stone towards the weekend. Wednesday, derived from the name of the Norse god Woden, who shares similarities with the Roman god Mercury. Marion herself bears a name inherited from a woman rivaling that of a Roman deity.
Like so many, Marion has held herself captive in a job that has served her nothing for a long time. On this particular Wednesday, she has taken a moment to grab some air and a bit of gumption.
It was time to take hold of the possibilities ahead and trust that there were much better things in store for her, she just needed the courage to move forward.
Wednesdays Child might be full of woe, but she is also full of determination and purpose.
