ARE your goals, SMART goals?
With every venture you take on, from showing your art at a market, to selling a target number of paintings, your ‘goals’ should be structured using the S-M-A-R-T formula.
Specific: Make your goal as specific as possible.
Measurable: Determine what analytics will tell you that you’ve achieved your goal.
Attainable: Your goal is realistic, but somewhat challenging.
Relevant: As a business, it makes sense to put effort into reaching this goal.
Time Bound: Have a deadline.
SMART goals are beneficial to artists because they provide a clear roadmap and direction for achieving their objectives. By making goals specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound, artists are able to focus their efforts and track their progress towards achieving their desired outcomes. This helps to ensure that artists are working towards realistic and achievable goals, rather than vague or unrealistic ones. Additionally, SMART goals help artists to stay motivated and accountable, as they are able to see the progress they are making and adjust their approach as needed to stay on track. Overall, SMART goals provide a framework for success and help artists to achieve their full potential.
